Kay Mercer Robbins, 71, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away April 4, 2019 in the presence of her family. She is survived by her brother, Bob Mercer (Faye); three children, Eric Deaton, Adam Deaton (Kathy), Rebecca Howell (John); and five grandchildren, Juliette Deaton, Lily Deaton, Noah Deaton, Samantha Howell and Dash Howell.
Kay was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on October 7th, 1947 to Ross and Cassell Mercer and settled with her family in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and earned a BA in Literature from the University of North Florida. In her professional life, Kay served as the Director of Communications for Baptist Medical Center, was the owner of Cliff’s Bar and Grill, and earned a certification as a Master Gardener from the University of Florida.
A celebration of the life of Kay Robbins will be held at noon on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 at the Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens at 1701 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida.
