He had worked for US Baird for thirty three years prior to his retirement in 1985. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korea Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion in Fairfield. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Agnes Lambert. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary; son, Albert Sopko and his wife, Judith of Bridgeport; granddaughter, Rose Sopko and her fiancé, Enzo Yaksic of Boston; and brother, Theodore Sopko of Fairfield.
