FAIRBORN — Robert (Bob) H. Boian, 79, of Fairborn, died at Patriot Ridge Community, on March 20, 2018. He was born May 6, 1938 to Oscar and Sadie Boian, who preceded him in death, as did his older brother, Donald Boian. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ann J. Boian, three children, Joann (Bill) Poock, Karen (Paul) Schreck, and Donald Boian, and daughter-in-law, Kim Boian. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Lilith Schreck, Nicholas (Melinda) Mitchell, Sara (Sean) Schreck, and Elizabeth Boian. Bob graduated in the Class of 1956 from Fairborn High School and served two years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, followed by two years in the Naval reserves. He was employed by the National Cash Register Company (NCR) for thirty-four years and was active in the Fairborn United Methodist Church, serving on many committees and chairing the Trustees for a number of years. In addition to his work in the church, he loved to travel and participated in numerous mission trips to Mexico. He made sure his children saw as much of the United States, Mexico and Canada as possible and encouraged world travel. The family wishes to thank the staff of Patriot Ridge Community for their love and care over the past couple of years. Bob donated his body to the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Fairborn United Methodist Church, 100 N. Broad St., Fairborn, with the Reverend Susan Holloway officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service or immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairborn Preschool and Daycare at FUMC or to .
