Joan Kaufman age 83 of Bloomington IL passed away at 11:15 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at her residence.
Her funeral service 1:30 PM Monday, April 15, 2019 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Dick Jorgensen minister Arrowsmith Christian Church will be officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Arrowsmith Christian Church.
Joan was born August 1, 1935 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Henry Clay and Stella B. Riddle Hisle. She married Howard Wayne Kaufman Sr. on February 11, 1956 in Bloomington, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her 4 children, Jim (Mindy) Kaufman, Creston, IA, Roger (Tina) Kaufman, Colfax, IL, Debbie (Richard) Jones, Arrowsmith, IL, Mark (Lori) Kaufman, Downs, IL., 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Howard Wayne Kaufman, Jr., 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Joan attended Bloomington High School. She was a house wife and helped her husband Howard farm for many years, after that Joan worked as a secretary for Fincham Insurance Agency, Colfax. She retired as the secretary for the Illinois State Police Task Force 6. Joan loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grand kids. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, crocheting and playing board games.
