On Monday, March 25, 2019, we lost our beloved brother Phillip S.G. Watkins, otherwise known as Phil. Phil died of natural causes at the young age of 70, in Humble, TX.
Phil was born on September 14, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Ruth E. Reid and Nathaniel Watkins.

He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, taking drives or just simply spreading his loving sarcasm. Phil loved to go over to New Orleans, whether to peruse or just in general relaxation. He enjoyed listening to Oldies, going to the L’Auberge, and the occasional philly cheeses steaks shared among family.

Phil graduated from Roman Catholic H.S. Philadelphia, Pa in 1966. Soon after he began working as a Vets Admin from June 1966 to December 1966 then transition to USPS December 1966 to December 1968. Also, at U.S. Army from February 1968 to October 1970, later working with the Treasury-Customs from November 1970 to March 2003. Phil moved on to Department of Homeland Security-Custom Border Patrol from March 2003 to December 2012. After serving 45+ years as a civil servant he retired.

He had been blessed to live in Phila. Pa, Mississauga, Ontario Canada, Humble, Tx.

Phillip S. G. Watkins is survived by his siblings Herman Watkins (Annette), Nathaniel Watkins, Gregory Watkins (Sondra) and Karen Watkins-Thomas and his stepdaughter Anita Fields. A host of niece’s/nephew’s, great-nieces/nephews, cousins, step granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Andre Hensley, Brandon Campbell, Jose Hinojose, Ivan Young, Isle Clarke and work associates. Phil is proceeded in death by sister Juanita Watkins 1974, father Nathaniel Watkins 1991, mother Ruth Watkins 2001.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Calvary Hill Chapel and Funeral Home. The viewing will be from 1 pm. To 2 pm at 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd. Humble Tx 77338

Memorial donations will be through Dignity Memorial. Please feel free to leave a memory and or a picture. Interment at Houston National Cemetery
