Heather Marie Barton (nee Dougherty) was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She moved to Oregon with her husband, Greg, in the early 70's. She loved to visit Multnomah Falls and picnic at the fish hatchery; or spend the day on the Oregon Coast enjoying a bowl of chowder at Norma's in Seaside. Heather was a consummate mother and homemaker; not only to her own children, but to many over the years. Many can attest to her helping them get their driver's license. She was dedicated to the sidelines over the years cheering on her children, grandchildren and husband's sports teams. She saddled up horses, helped with homework, put gelatin in hair for synchronized swimming and played taxi service getting kids back and forth to practice. Her love of music, in particular-Country music, and singing was ever apparent though music in the house or singing along with family. She created fun traditions with her family and always shared them with friends that needed a place to be. Spending 4th of July at the St. Paul Rodeo with a Kentucky Fried Chicken Picnic was one of the family favorites. Heather was known for her delicious shortbread cookies at Christmas and the family has many fun memories of decorating them over the years. Wonderful times were spent at the family pool. She loved the sun! She spent many years cruising around Beaverton, as she flitted to and fro from Safeway to Albertsons to US Bank.

Heather is survived by her husband, Greg Barton; children Carrie and Marcus Monnie, Tiffany and Chris Budke, Taylor and Jessica Barton, Janelle and Ryan Cash, Brittany and Rodney Eudy; her beloved grandchildren Carson, Mason, Kennidy, Tyler, Emmy, Easton, Lauren, Bryn, Brant, McKale, Jamison and Cade (making his debut this month). Mourning the first break in their chain are her nine siblings back home in Kitchener, ON, Canada.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life at 5pm on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Ernesto's Restaurant in Beaverton. We'll share readings, photos, fond memories and songs. Please let family know if you are able to join us. You are welcome to stop by anytime throughout the evening, commemoration and a hosted dinner will begin around 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donate Life Northwest, as Heather was both a recipient and a donor.
