Ira A. Whisler, 83, McCourt Construction Co. secretary and director, died Tuesday at General Medical Center after a two-week illness.
Born in Massillon, Mr. Whisler of 1781 Brookshire rd. lived more than 50 years in the Akron area. He had been with McCourt Construction since 1928.
He attended St. Vincent Catholic Church and was a member of the Fairlawn Country Club.
He leaves his wife, Helen; daughter, Mrs. Ivan Frey, Akron; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Billow Fairlawn chapel where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
