Thomasine Bragg was baptized on 26 December 1597 at the Church of Saint James the Great in Colchester, Essex, England, a daughter of Robert and Susanna Bragg.

She removed to Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands with her parents and siblings before 18 May 1612.

On 21 March 1618, a marriage proclamation was recorded for John Mayo ("Jan Meyer") of England and Thomasine Bragg ("Timmosijn Breyck") of England in Leiden (Netherlands Reformed Church Proclamations, volume H, February 1614 - May 1619, archive number 1004, inventory number 8, folio H - 216). The marriage itself is not of record, probably having occurred at the English Church in Leiden, the register for which has been lost. The names of the groom and bride were transliterated phonologically by the Dutch scribe. Notably, the Dutch language has neither a short "a" sound nor a hard "g" sound to accommodate the bride's surname (Bragg thence becoming "Breyck").

Thomasine Bragg and her husband John Mayo (a son of John Mayo) and were the parents of five children, all of whom were likely born in Leiden and baptized at the English Church there (no surviving register).

By 1639, the family had removed to Barnstable, Plymouth Colony.

From 1646 to 1654, she resided in Nauset, Plymouth Colony (present-day Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts).

In 1655, she relocated to Boston where her husband became the first pastor at the Old North Meeting House and served from 9 November 1655 until 15 April 1673. The couple thereafter removed to Yarmouth where John Mayo died in May 1676.

Mrs. Thomasine (Bragg) Mayo, a widow, died in Yarmouth, Plymouth Colony on 26 February 1682[/83] where her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Mayo) Howes was living. She is thought to have been buried in the Howes Family Cemetery, but there is no remaining marker.

NOTE: Thomasine Bragg, wife of John Mayo, has been confused with Thomasine ______, wife of William Lumpkin. Thomasine Bragg was never married to William Lumpkin.

Mrs. Thomasine (______) Lumpkin, wife of William Lumpkin, died at an unknown date after 23 July 1668, probably in Yarmouth, Plymouth Colony. She was never married to John Mayo.
