Mrs. Linda Joyce Lopez age 70 of Hornady Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday March 14, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Lopez was born on April 29, 1948 in Tampa, FL., the daughter of the late John Traina and the late Jennie Centinaro Traina. Linda was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dennis Lopez Jr. in 2016. Linda was of the Catholic faith.

She was known by many names... Ma...Mama, the Doodler, "Linda!" and Cliffy, named after Cliff Clavin from the 80's sitcom Cheers who knew a little something about everything. However, unlike Clavin, Cliffy Doodles got her facts straight...after spending many decades in self-study of all sorts of historical and liberal art subjects. Ma also had a love for old movies, Swiffer-sweepers, bleach and the shenanigans of her grand kids. When she wasn’t swiffing the floors, she was yelling at the dogs, except for the fat pug Hugo...who always brought her joy and laughter.

Linda was the embodiment of strength and acceptance, ever supportive of those she cared for...and she had an endless capacity of love. Ma had more "honorary" grandchildren than anybody...blood relation didn’t mean a thing to her.. just ask them; Justin E., Joey D., Eddie K., Jemha R., Allie W., Dylan B., Ryan F. aka Frank, Brett, Sean and Drew D., Joanna I., Brenda L., Andrew S., Allison E., Jesus P., Alyssa McF., and many more. Even in her last days, she would talk about all her grandchildren...how proud she was of them, and how she wanted them to continue on with their dreams. Ma was a woman with an empowered attitude, a "Make your Move" spirit...that she gave wholeheartedly to her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. We love you Ma.

Surviving Mrs. Lopez are her loving husband and best friend of fifty years, Dennis Lopez of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, J.J. and Dan Walts of Blairsville, one sister and brother in law, Rose Ann and Bob Buning of Homosassa, FL., sister in law, Celeste and Darren Mell of Palm Harbor, FL., brother in law, John Gonzalez of Pinellas, FL., niece, Santana Mell of Palm Harbor, nephew, David and Wing Ki Buning of Orlando, FL., grandchildren, Jake Walts, Bebe Walts and Ian Lopez, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Union County Special Education Department in Linda’s memory.
