Robert Lee Winkler, a resident of Gardendale, Alabama, was born in Dora, Alabama on December 9th, 1937 and he passed away peacefully in his home on October 20th, 2017 at the age of 79. Robert proudly served in the US Army and retired after 23 years of service for our country. He was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed NASCAR and he was a member of the Living Word Ministry, Gardendale, Alabama.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Beverly Winkler Honeycutt (Keith), son, Jeffery L. Winkler (Angel); siblings, Roger Winkler (Mickie), Sue Dill, and Ann Herron (Alvin); five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren with two on the way, and a host of friends and family. The family would like to extend special thanks to Tracy and Curtis Rice for the love and support they have given through the years.

Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 with a visitation to begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama with military honors.
