Born in Roseboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Kirby and Rosa Hair Hall. Mrs. Matthews was a member of River Road Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and visiting the lake.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by a son, David "Glenn" Sessoms (Wanda) of Rock Hill; a daughter, Tammy M. Knight (Jimmy) of Easley; five grandchildren, David Sessoms (Julie), Matthew Sessoms (Katie), Jamie Knight, Ashley Knight, and Bradley Knight; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Matthews is predeceased by her two sisters, Diane McKenzie and Dorcas Brock.
Entombment at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
