Obituary of Roger Dean Dixon
Roger Dean Dixon, 73, of Asheboro passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health High Point Medical Center.
Roger was born March 1, 1946 in Asheboro to Paul Dean Dixon and Mary Frances Underwood Dixon. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School. Roger served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Black and Decker and Thomas Built Bus. Roger was a member of Giles Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church.

Roger was faithful to his church, his family, and his friends. Roger was preceded in death by his father Paul Dean Dixon and brother-in-law, Donald (Whitey) Thompson. Roger loved spending time with the most important person in the world to him, his grandson. Roger was the happiest outdoors cutting trees or mowing. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him for his giving heart, sense of humor, and quick wit.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Dixon and wife Tina of Asheboro; grandson, Jordan Dixon of Asheboro; mother, Mary Frances Underwood Dixon of Asheboro; sisters, Betty Jo Thompson of Asheboro and Pat (Trish) Cox and husband Greg of Archdale; brother, Michael Dixon and wife Regina of Randleman; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and other times at the home of his mother. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410 or to the organization of the donor's choice
