Don Robert Madden, 78, of Eufaula, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Don was born on September 30, 1940, in Coalgate, Oklahoma the son of Burt Manley and Dorothy Mildred (Burns) Madden. He graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, Kansas. He received his Associates Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. On March 8, 1963, Don enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he was a naval aviator completing 250 night carrier landings. He was honorably discharged in 1968. Don worked as an airline pilot for Frontier and American West Airlines for seventeen years and as a flight instructor for thirty years. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antique/sports cars.
Survivors include: his daughter, Lorenda DiGiacomo of Aurora, CO; his brother, Jim Madden and wife Tish of Evergreen, CO; his grandchildren, Nicholette Rose and Julianna Loray DiGiacomo; his former wife, Bertie Lou Madden and his nieces, Ashlee Falivene of Centennial, CO and Deb Brannon of Golden, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Scott Madden.
