Shelby LaWayne "Wayne" Jones, 75, of 130 Jones Fork Lane, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away early Saturday morning, February 16, 2019, at the Life Brite Community Hospital in Blakely, Ga. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev.Gary Keown and Rev. Samuel Jones officiating in the Chapel service and Brother Richard Hawks officiating at the graveside committal at Bush Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Gerald Jones, Tony and Ricky Taylor, Kenneth Moore, Taylor Bridges and Robert Murkerson. Honorary Pallbearers will be former and current employees of the Georgia Pacific Woodyard.
Wayne was born on March 25, 1943 in Blakely, GA to the late Joseph Roselle Jones and Myrtle Oneal Davis Jones Lewis. He was a member of the Cuba Presbyterian Church, a U. S. Army Veteran and was retired from
Georgia Pacific Paper Mill as a Main Line Crane Operator.
His survivors include his wife: Norma Braswell Jones, a daughter: Miracle Jones Carter and Brooks, a son: Tim Jones and Brooke, 2 Brothers: Rev. Sterling Jones and Louise, Roger Jones and 2 grandsons: Jacob and Gage Jones all of Blakely, GA
