THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 08, 2006: “Sarah Jo Tidwell, 78, of Paris died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Patrick Cannon officiating. Interment follows in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery. The family receives friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 27, 1927, in the East Post Oak Community, the daughter of W. T. ‘Bill’ and Eva Pratt Ford. She was a graduate of Lamar County schools, and of Draughn’s Business College in Dallas. She was office manager for Parkview Nursing Home in Paris, and served her community faithfully by her work with Charles Greb Enterprises and the nursing homes of Paris for the past 25 years. She was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ. She married Hoyt W. Tidwell on Oct. 11, 1946, in Paris, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Hollis Ford. She is survived by two sons, Lynn Tidwell and wife, Dana, of Fort Worth and Paul Tidwell of Paris; a daughter, Jenifer Goode and husband, Glen, of Paris; five grandchildren, Taylor Tidwell and Lynnsie Tidwell, both of Fort Worth, and Austin Goode, Tanner Goode and Kyle Goode, all of Paris; a brother, J. C. Ford and wife, Glenna, of Paris; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ford of Fort Worth and Irene Largent of Lufkin; five nieces and nephews; and a dedicated friend, Dub Risinger, of Clarksville. Named to serve as pallbearers are N. B. Nation, Max Goode, Norman Farris, Tom Ragan, Mark Burchfield, Kevin Adams, Mike Ford and Pat Ford.
