William “Bill” Guy Pitts, 100 died on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.
Bill was born in Saluda on March 21, 1919, to the late Poincette and Bertha Guy Pitts. He was a “Simple Man Who Lived a Simple Life”. Bill enjoyed baseball, fishing, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Johnnie Warren Pitts; his twin brother, Robert “Bob” Pitts; and sisters, Ruth Collette, Flora Burress, and Edna Holcombe.
Bill is survived by his son, Gerald Pitts (Vivian); grandchildren, Patrick Pitts(Alina) and Jennifer Nichols (Jody); and great-grandchildren, Noah Pitts, Brooklyn and Brynlee Nichols.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations, with the Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 9, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
