Donald E.Loyd Strickland (SFC, USA, Ret.), age 88, of Lorton, VA, formerly of Strasburg, VA, passed away on April 4, 2019. Beloved husband of more than 60 years to the late Darlene Marie (Stanley) Strickland. Loving father of four, grandfather of, great grandfather of three and brother of three. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Strickland. Donald was the son of the late Ossie G. and Fannie (Collins) Strickland.

Donald proudly served our country for over 20 years in the United States Army, where he retired as a Sergeant First Class. He then worked as a transportation specialist for Civil Service. When he was able to relax, Donald enjoyed Country Western Music, working in the yard, and watching NASCAR. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins, and the Washington Nationals. His family, especially his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, where he will be reunited with his wife Darlene.
