Beth Joy Davis, 39 years, of Lenoir City, Tennessee passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on August 30, 1979 in Syosset, New York.

Beth Joy worked at NHC Place, Farragut for 16 years where she shared her joy with many patients, visitors and staff.

Beth Joy loved God; family; friends; the world-wide Koolen-de Vries Syndrome Community of Kool Kids, Adults, Families & Professionals; First Baptist Concord Church & their Sonshine Ministry; her job at NHC Place, Farragut; swimming with the ACAC (Atomic City Aquatic Club); horseback riding; Special Olympics; Camp Koinonia; Koinonia Retreat; Joni and Friends Camp; Prom of the Stars; A Night to Shine Prom; cheerleading & dancing Hip Hop with Revolution Dance; swimming with dolphins; going to the beach; Miss Shining Star Pageant; YMCA Heart of Summer Triathlon; working out at the Y gym; vacations in Gatlinburg with the Wells family; music & singing solos; and scrapbooking all of her many life adventures.

In high school, Beth Joy was honored with 1st place in the Yes I Can Award in Extracurricular Activities by the Tennessee Council for Exceptional Citizens. As an adult she was honored as the Employee of the Month at NHC Place, Farragut receiving a much treasured stuffed Hope the Dolphin and other items.

Beth Joy received 16 & a half years of dedicated service from many staff at ACT (Adult Community Training Center) of Lenoir City, Tennessee. She received over a decade of residential care from Tabatha West, her husband Tony, their children Cameron and Baylee and her mother “Granny” Velmia Hickman as well as 6 years of job coaching and day services from Missy Wells.

Beth Joy was preceded in death by grandparents Michael J. & Rachel “Eloise” (Grau) Schwartz of Long Beach, California and Harold & Dorothy (Webb) Davis of Clatskanie, Oregon as well as uncle & aunt Rocky & Margaret (Schwartz) Roque-Escobar of Fountain Valley, California.

Beth Joy is survived by parents William A. “Bill” & Sarah K. (Schwartz) Davis of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; sister & brother-in-love Sharon L. (Davis) & Duane Stout of Knoxville, TN; niece Shayna Stout of Knoxville, Tennessee; uncles & aunt Michael E. Schwartz of North Bend, Oregon and Robert “Bob” & Bonnie (Bonnell) Davis of Clatskanie, Oregon; first cousins Darla (Davis) & Michael “Mike” Barkley of Puyallup, Washington and Vincent Roque-Escobar & Marissa Duenas of Fountain Valley, California; and first cousins once removed Miranda Barkley of Puyallup, Washington; Collin Barkley & Rebekah Barkley both of Puyallup, Washington & Corvallis, Oregon; and Isaac Roque-Escobar of Fountain Valley, California.

Beth Joy was buried in small a private service on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Narrow Ridge Natural Burial Preserve in Washburn, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM followed by Beth Joy's Celebration of Life Service at 2 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at First Baptist Concord Church Chapel, 11704 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934.
