Son of the late Alfred Carter Sr. and Sadie Robinson Carter. Also preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Carter and one brother, Warren Carter.

Left to cherish his memory are a loving and devoted family, his wife, Ann Wicks Carter of Charlottesville, VA.; one son, Melvin D. Carter Jr. of Charlottesville, VA.; three daughters, Pamela Barmore of Charlottesville, VA.; Brenda Gresham, of West Pointe, VA., and Kerlie Johnson of Charlottesville, VA.; two brothers, Cameron Carter and Alfred Carter Jr. of Richmond, VA.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

A home going celebration was held at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church with the Dr. Rev. Alvin Edwards officiating.

Services of comfort entrusted to the staff of McClenny Funeral Service Inc., Charlottesville, VA.
