Traer--Terry L. Hiltabidle, 76, of Traer, died unexpectedly on December 24, 2018, at his home. Celebration of Life Service at the North Tama Activity Center in Traer, Iowa.

Terry was born on February 2, 1942, in Allerton, Iowa. He graduated from Allerton High School in 1960. He attended Northwest Missouri State University and received a BA degree in teaching and coaching. He attended Truman University and earned a Master's in Administration. He continued his education and pursued a Masters in Mathematics from Purdue University.

On June 5, 1966, Terry married Sharon K. Smith.

Terry started his career as a Mathematics Teacher and basketball coach at Wayne Community Schools in Corydon, Iowa, then worked at Shivers in Corydon as a manager. Terry then moved his family to Traer, Iowa where he accepted the Purchasing Manager position at Traer Manufacturing. After retiring from Traer Manufacturing, Terry decided he was not ready to be done working. Terry then went to work at Meskwaki Bingo and Casino, where he worked as a Security Guard up until his passing.

Terry was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He enjoyed gardening, being outside, watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, watching his grandsons in their many activities, and spending time with his family. He was involved with his community and served on the school board for several years. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon; two children, Scott Hiltabidle and Amy (Kirk) Crawford; two grandsons, Kody and Kolten; and a sister Diana Thomas.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles E. and Anna Mae (Shell) Hiltabidle, and two brothers, Larry (Laura Nell) Hiltabidle, and Richard (Wanema) Hiltabidle.
