Mary Lou Kick, 77 of Smyrna, GA died January 7th. Mary Lou was born in Nahunta, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Verdie and George Willis. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Donald John Kick and brothers J.O., Kenneth, George, John and Frank Willis.

Mary Lou was a graduate gemologist credentialed through the Gemological Institute of America. She was a renowned gem cutter and a beloved instructor at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts.

Mary Lou is survived by daughters Susan (Alton) Hall and Virginia Helms and sons Donald (Diane)Kick, Jr. and Charles (April) Kick. She is also survived by grandchildren Donna Brewer, Laura Ferguson, Meghan Hix, Emily Kick, Hannah Kick, Aaron Kick and Scott Kick as well as great-grand-children Chandler, Baylor and Ethan Brewer and Easton Hix. She is also survived by Sisters Ella Wilson and Sandra Thomas and brothers, Paul and Robert Willis.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 at the Smyrna Community Center located at 200 Village Green, Smyrna, Georgia.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, 230 Lapidary Lane, Young Harris, GA 30582 or Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
