Mr. Bailey was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Kansas City.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6603, Blue Springs. He worked for the General Motors Fairfax Plant for 38 years, retiring as a supervisor in June 1987.
He and his wife square danced for many years with the Swinging Oaks of Oak Grove.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Bryan and Jerry Bailey.
His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Roberta Bailey of the home; two sons, Dan Bailey, Independence, and Ed Bailey, Odessa; one daughter, Candace Williams, Grain Valley; three sisters, Erlene Durrenberger, Valparaiso, Fla., and Effie Evans and Marian Todd, both of Kansas City, Kan.; three brothers, Harvey Bailey, Shawnee, Kan., Bill Bailey, Irvine, Calif., and Jon Bailey, Lenexa, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church of Blue Springs, 701 N.W. 15th St. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. The family suggests contributions to the church or the Greater Kansas City Hospice.
