David William Dodd, 74, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 30, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to Leonard D. and Mary L. Brasure Dodd.
He grew up in Crystal City, MO, and graduated from Crystal City High School. David was an Eagle Scout along with his brother Jim, and father Leonard.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He graduated with honors from both universities with a 4.0 grade average.
He worked as an actuary and a consultant in the insurance and human resources industry, living in New York City, NY, San Francisco, CA, and Plainsboro, NJ, retiring from William Mercer Company in 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James D. Dodd.
