Mrs. Smith was born June 19, 1935 in Lockhart, a daughter of the late Vester Leroy Davis and Ruth Sealey Davis. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and Columbia Business College. She was retired as secretary of Lockhart Schools and Brown's Creek Water Company after 42 years of service. She was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Allie Candler WMU, and a member of the Relay for Life Team. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are three sisters, Ila D. Johnson of Lockhart, Lora D. Fielder of Union, and Ailene D. Ashe of Lockhart; a special son, John Lee Robbins; six nieces, Kathy Revis, Lora Ann Vaughan, Rhonda Greer, Jill Scarborough, Cynthia Adams, and Cheryl Rop; four nephews, Don Ray Vaughan, Jr., Ronald Y. Vaughan, Carl Alexander, and Jimmy Johnson; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Roberts, and a special friend and caregiver, Debbie Rashe. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a brother, Alex Davis and three brothers-in-law, James F. Johnson, Dr. Gerald Fielder and James Neely Ashe, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Lockhart First Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be Dillan Williams, Thomas Gugliucci, Billy Brown, Daniel Revis, Matthew Rawls, Matthew Greer, Spencer Scarborough and Thomas Scarborough. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Jenkins, Donald Revis, Arnold Childers, Jantzen Childers, Scott Vlock, Robert Carter, Roger Thomason, Ronnie Thomason, James Lancaster, Billy Lawson, Ted Garner, and Paul "Dodie" McCutcheon.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Holcombe Funeral Home.
