Doris Marie (Jameson) Nidey was born on Monday; August 21, 1922, in Batavia; Jefferson County, Iowa. Doris was the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Hewitt) Jameson. She graduated from Birmingham High School. Doris was united in marriage to Roy N. Nidey on Wednesday; January 23, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg; Iowa County, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in the Oxford area until 1956 when they moved to Coggon; Linn County, Iowa in 1960 and the family returned back to Williamsburg; Iowa. Since 1966 they have made their home there. She was a cook at the elementary school for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, Women's Guild and the Fellowship Group. Doris Marie (Jameson) Nidey, age 84, passed away on Wednesday; May 23, 2007, at her home after a brief illness. Those left to mourn her passing are: Two sons: Dale (Karen) Nidey of San Bernardino; San Bernardino County, California. Roger (Deb) Nidey of North Liberty; Johnson County, Iowa. Two daughters: Deborah (Dale) Schmidt of Carroll; Carroll County, Iowa. Robin (Kevin) Thompson of Houston; Harris County, Texas. Ten grandchildren: Chris & Ryan Nidey, Jill & Adam Schweers, Andy & Carissa Schmidt, Heidi Schmidt, Mary Thompson, Emily Thompson and Jason Butterbaugh. Four great grandchildren: Bennett & Camron Schweers and Hailey & Karlie Butterbaugh. A sister: Lemira Collett of Williamsburg, Iowa and three brothers: Robert (Vera) Jameson of Eugene; Lane County, Oregon. Richard Jameson and Rex (Lois) Jameson, all of Burlington; Des Moines County, Iowa. Doris was preceded in death by: her parents, husband in 1988, and a brother: John Jameson. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be on Saturday; May 26, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at Noon on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Iowa. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate.
