Mrs. Rachel Ann Carter Gordon, 78, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at PruittHealth in High Point. She was born on January 9, 1941 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to Charlie Howard and Dovie Ruth Staples Carter. She loved her mother and father dearly, and enjoyed bowling, the beach and mountains, Bowman Gray racing, her job taking care of others, and shopping. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband - John A. Gordon, Sr. and a son - Johnny Gordon. She is survived by her son - Jimmy Seawell (Tina); five grandchildren - Amy, Jamie, Elijah, Alana, and Isaac; five great-grandchildren - Jailyn, Austin, Braydon, Breanda, and Brooklin; and one sister - Mary Lou Pierce. A funeral service for Rachel will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Entombment will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville.
