Jack Lawson, of Nixa, died March 24, 2019.
Jack grew up in both Joplin, Missouri and Wichita, Kansas.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1965 and proudly served his country for 13 months in Vietnam, beginning in 1966. He received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained from a hand grenade, spending weeks in a USO hospital. He was honorably discharged in 1969 He went on to live an honorable life.
Jack married Beverly Seay in 1968. They divorced in 1984. He married Linda Kay Marsden in September 23, 1984. She preceded Jack in death in 2016.
Jack is survived by sons Ron Lawson, of Carthage, Missour, Jerry Lawson and Mark Lawson, both of Nixa, Missouri; sisters Connie Jewell, of Jacksboro, Tennessee, and Linda Shaw, of Arkansas; brother Larry Jewell, of Waco, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest with military honors at noon on April 12, 2019 in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
