Obituary for Sherron Elizabeth Rye Martin
Aberdeen - Sherron Elizabeth Rye Martin, 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. Born on August 13, 1949, in Aberdeen, MS, she was a daughter of the late L.C. and Margaret Elizabeth Gordon Rye.

Sherron graduated Aberdeen High School with the class of 1967. She met her soul-mate, Earl Martin, at Itawamba Junior College, and they married on September 13, 1968. After serving the public for many years, she eventually retired from the Monroe County Health Department in January 2015 where she was serving as Manager. A faithful servant of God, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Amory. She was known for her selfless heart and led others by example.

Sherron’s life was centered around her family. She was a beacon for her family and loved spending time with them. Her cooking and her wonderful spaghetti dinners were infamous among family and friends. “Mimi,” as her grandkids affectionately called her, was very loving and giving. Her grandchildren brought her much joy and comfort. She especially enjoyed Christmas and spending the holidays with her family. A strong and wise woman, Sherron always had a smile on her face. Sherron is at home with her Lord now, and she is smiling down on her family. She left a legacy of grace and love for her family, and will never be forgotten.
