Kenneth Harlen Huffman, Sr., 88, of Fairmont passed away at his home on Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was born in Fairmont on March 31, 1931 a son of the late Luther Huffman and Bessie (Haun) Huffman.
Kenneth served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at S.M. Kisner Construction for 20 years. He was also owner and operator of Huffman Construction. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and country music.
He is survived by his children, his son, Kenneth H. Huffman, Jr. and his wife Mary of Fairmont, His daughters, Cheryl Neal and her husband George, Joyce Hartman and Jerry Friend of Terra Alta, Connie Hixenbaugh and her husband Steve of Fairmont and Henrietta LeMasters of Fairmont along with 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ellen Rush Huffman in October of 2011; three brothers, Dickie Huffman, Albert Huffman and Earl Huffman; two granddaughters, Amanda Towns and Tina M. Nay and three son-in-laws, Charles Hartman, Louis Zolton and James Lawson.
Friends and family will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Monday from 1pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will be at 1pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the funeral home with Evangelist Steve Stemple. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Marion County Military Honor guard at grave side.
