On July 25, 2017, God sent down an angel to call home a son of his own, William Overa Ziegler. William was born on April 20, 1956, to William Robert (Billy Bob) and Bertha Lean Ziegler in Franklin County, VA.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 19 years married and 22 years together, Mrs. Shawna M. Ziegler; one daughter, Mrs. Adrianne (Bobby) Shepherd; one son, Mr. Tierre (Terri) McGinnis; three grandchildren, Tierra McGinnis, Tierre McGinnis Jr., and Brianna Shepherd, all of Roanoke, VA; two brothers, Mr. Freddy (Betty) Ziegler, of Pikeville, KY, Mr. Tony (Dawn) Ziegler, of Rocky Mount, VA and Leander Wainwright, of Roanoke, VA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Reggie McGinnis, of Roanoke, VA; four sisters, Ms. Kathy Ziegler, Mrs. Kimberly (Ronnie) Childress, Ms. Mary Mack, all of Rocky Mount, VA and Ms. Mary Roberson, of Roanoke, VA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. William was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Ziegler, mother, Bertha Ziegler, brother, Cecil Burger, sister, Diane Lumpkins, mother-in-law, Betty "Nanny" Jean Robertson and sister-in-law, Gina Leftwich.
