Lake Arthur: Minus was born on September 18, 1950 to J.B. Abshire and Anna Mae Abshire. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on April 6, 2019. Minus loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, working in his garden, and he also enjoyed working on all kinds of different things such as radios and fishing nets. Most of all Minus loved spending time with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Minus is survived by his wife, Carol D. Abshire of Lake Arthur, LA; his two sons, Erik Abshire (Angie) of Evangeline, LA, Aaron Abshire of Lake Arthur, LA; his three daughters, Lynn Abshire Ciancio of Kaplan, April LeBlanc (Shane, Sr.) of Lake Arthur, LA, Crystal Williams (David) of Lake Arthur, LA; his two brothers, Calvin Abshire of Forked Island, LA, David Abshire of Kaplan, LA; his four sisters, Barbara Abshire of Kaplan, LA, Linda Lormand of Kaplan, LA, Dorothy Abshire of Abbeville, LA, Shirley Abshire of Kaplan, LA; his thirteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Minus was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Anna Mae Abshire; his brother, Alvin Abshire.
Funeral Services for Minus Joseph Abshire, 68 of Lake Arthur, LA will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Paul Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
