Monnie Enquist, 70, died at his farm home near Bates, Thursday afternoon after a lingering Illness. Mr. Enquist was born in the town of Farila, Sweden, February 5, 1886. He came to the United States at the age of 16 to live with his uncle, the late Peter Enquist of Acme.

March 15, 1911, he was united in marriage with Maud Arnold of Bates, and they have since resided in the Bates area. Mr, Enquist has always been Interested In community affairs, serving many years on the Bates school district board. In later years he was employed by the Traverse City Canning Company and Parsons Industries.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Esther Stoll, and a granddaughter, Miss Jacqueda Stoll of Wllllamsburg, and several brothers and sisters in Sweden.

The funeral service will be at
the Hlbburd funeral home at two o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev C. II. Hull, a former pastor at the Bates church and now of Ashley, Michigan, will officiate, and interment will be In Circle Hill cemetery at Wllllamsburg.

C. II. Hull of Ashley, a former pastor of the Bates church, and Interment followed in Circle Hill cemetery at
Williamsburg.
