Catlin, Illinois – Christie A. Collins, 64 of Catlin, Illinois passed away at 7:30 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at OSF Heart of Mary of Medical Center, Urbana, Illinois.
Christie was born August 20, 1954 in Danville, Illinois to Russell and Mary Dickinson Jones Jr. She married Raymond Collins on August 26, 1972 in Catlin. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2015.
Surviving are: three daughters: Tammy (Greg) Snedeker of Tilton, Dawn (Ted) Thilmony of Joliet, Illinois, and Cherinda (Jeremy) Kargol of Westville; one brother: Robert R. (Patricia) Jones of Catlin, Illinois; eleven grandchildren: Samantha Snedeker, Tiffany Snedeker, Jennifer Snedeker, Christian Roach, Ian Roach, Eleanor Kargol, Jeremy Kargol, Haley Freeman, Tyler Thilmony, Madison Thilmony, and Ryan Thilmony; two great-grandsons: Bryson Sims and Benson Link and one on the way: Sophia Jennings; several nieces and nephews; and special friend: Shawn Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her father, her mother: Mary Haworth, and one great-grandson: Blazeson Link.
Christie was a hair stylist and had been a manager at the Burger King in Tilton and the Village Mall, Danville, Illinois. She had worked at Toby’s Café in Catlin. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and dirt track racing. She loved spending time with her family and her dog Rowdy.
