Janet Lorraine Oetting Ferguson was born on May 31, 1934 in Concordia, Mo. She graduated from Concordia High School in 1952 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Central Missouri State College. She also earned a Master of Music and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She worked at the Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, SC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her sisters, Marie Oetting Plattner and Betty Oetting Fiesler and her parents, Jul and Mildred Oetting. She is survived by her 4 children, Richard Ferguson and wife Darinda of Colorado Springs, CO; Kathalyn Neven and husband Werner of Hermerzheim, Germany; Chrysalyn Graves and husband Ken of Simpsonville, SC; and Randal Ferguson and wife Sabrina, also of Simpsonville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandsons.

Visitation will be at the Dunbar Funeral Home in Irmo, SC on Friday, April 5, 2019 with funeral services planned for Saturday, April 6, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC.

An additional visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, MO. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Mo.
