Sylvia attended Hilly Branch High School and Magnolia High School in Lumberton, North Carolina. She furthered her education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
Sylvia Howell accepted Christ in November 1992, at the age of 36, and was united with Rock Hill Baptist Church.
She was employed by Metrolina Green House Southeastern Regional Medical Center as a Nurse’s Aide, for two years. In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Sylvia Levonde Howell departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Howell; mother, Addie Howell, six brothers, and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory five sisters, Gertrude Hill (Leroy), Carthelia Smith (James Arthur), Maggie Howell, Betty Bethea (Leroy), Hazel Jones (Bobby); three brothers, Ernest Howell (Claire), John Howell (Meriam), and Jerry Howell (Linda), a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, four great great nieces and nephew; two special friends, Glenda Moore and Sandra Mathis, and a host of other family members.
Funeral services for Ms. Howell will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, 10:30 AM, at Canaan Christian Worship Center. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Cade Cemetery, in Lumberton, NC. Professional services have been entrusted to Boston's Mortuary.
