Alden Jay Black, 22, passed away on April 4, 2019 in Dallas, Texas in a tragic motorcycle accident. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to all who knew and loved him. He was born on January 9, 1997 in Dallas, Texas to Jason Black and Wendy Horowitz Black.

Alden, a gentle giant at 6 foot 6 inches, never met a stranger and was a dear friend to all. Known as “Slim Funk”, “All-Day”, and “Bear” to his family and close friends, his quiet demeanor laid cover to his huge heart. Alden loved all things mechanical – he was an enthusiastic builder of cars and motorcycles. His selflessness and generosity rooted countless relationships that will be cherished forever.

Alden is survived by his parents Wendy Horowitz, Jason Black & Melissa Howell, siblings Reese, Trace, and Brie Black, grandparents Sue Horowitz, LaDean Corley, Donnie Black, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Jay Horowitz and Morris Corley.

A private funeral service will be held graveside at 2 pm on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park.
