He was top salesman for Birdwell Heating and coolant for three years, He donated to various charities by walking in half marathons, He was a 4 H leader for Monroe County Mavericks for twenty years, and was a member of Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors: his wife, Sue Ellen (Higgins) Thurman, His Mother, Magdalene Thurman, Three Daughters, Emily Thurman, Alicia (Shannon) Bowles, Kennedy Thurman, a Son, Dalton Thurman, a Step-Daughter, Rachel(Josh) Deel, a Step-Son, Darren (Lauren) Varee. Sister, Connie (Jamie) Jones, a Brother, Edward (Virginia) Thurman, Nineteen Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his Father and a Sister, Pamela Jean Williams.
