Son of Johannis C. Decker and Sarah Depuy. He married Gertrude Bruyn on 12 May 1814. His birth and the marriage are both in the records of the Dutch Reformed Church at Shawangunk. No death record has been found. Family history says he is thought to have died in 1836 while making a trip downriver. He never returned and foul play was suspected, although his body was never found.
