Jeff Meyer, age 60 of Sioux Center, IA, died Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley, IA.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, April 2nd at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. Jamie Dykstra officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Visitation will be Monday, April 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Jeffrey Alan Meyer was born on December 18, 1958 in Sibley, IA, the son of Rudolph and Magdalene (Alons) Meyer. He and his family moved to Sioux Center where he attended school and later graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1977. On July 23, 1988, Jeff was united in marriage to Sheila Buss at the Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA. To this union two children were born, Kristin and Tyler. Jeff worked various places throughout his life such as Joe’s Ready Mix of Sioux Center, I-con Implement of Ireton and most recently at A & I of Rock Valley. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Jeff’s passion was fishing, and he taught himself how to make tackle. He liked to stay busy whether he was fixing something or shining up his truck or his boat. Jeff especially loved spending time with his children and his grandson, Ryker. He will be greatly missed.

Jeff is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sheila Meyer of Sioux Center, IA; two children, Kristin Meyer and Jim Dingeman of Des Moines, IA and Tyler Meyer and Aubie Mulder of Sioux Center, IA; one grandson, Ryker Kats-Meyer; his mother, Magdalene (Harlin) Doorenbos of Sioux Center, IA; one brother, Larry Meyer of Oakdale, PA; three sisters, Linda (Roger) Wissink of Orange City, IA, Sue (Bruce) Vonk of Sioux Center, IA and Evonne Swanson of Iowa City, IA; two step-sisters, Wanda (Gary) Vos and Iladene (Randy) Renkin both of Sheldon, IA; step-brother, Kevin Doorenbos of Sheldon, IA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, step-nieces and nephews, cousins; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Rudolph “Rudy” Meyer; parents-in-law, John and Glenda Buss; brother-in-law, Rick Buss; and sister-in-law, Elaine Meyer.
