Robert Wilson Benjamin of Shallotte died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Mr. Benjamin was born in Greensboro on Feb. 7, 1929, a son of the late James Thompson and Alyce Carson Benjamin.
Mr. Benjamin was a Marine veteran and served in Korea. He was a member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rose Benjamin; his brother, James Benjamin Jr.; and his stepson, Larry Russell Bundy.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, Sharon Lee Colby and husband, Robert, of Silvester, Ga., and Tina Marie Ratcliff and husband, Lon, of High Point; his stepson's wife Lisa, of Cocoa, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Arbor Landing in Ocean Isle Beach. The Rev. John Causey officiated.
