GRIFFIN, Mr. Harold Romaine Donaldson "Pops" - age 89, passed away, Monday, April 1, 2019 at his residence. Family hour 11:00AM Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, South Astor Street., with funeral service commencing immediately at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Al James Terrell, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00AM Tuesday. Mr. Griffin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday.

Mr. Griffin leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Ruthie Mae Griffin; children, Vanessa J. Taylor, Eric R. Donaldson and Ivy J. Donaldson Griffin Jackson; grandchildren, Jyles (Pauline) Taylor, III, Nykia A. (Pastor John) Smith, Kristen K. L. Emmanuel Erica Donaldson, Anthony D. Knight, Jaisen Taylor, Jamelle S. Jackson and Jazmine Q. Jackson; seventeen great grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; siblings, Eddie and Kenneth Griffin, Delores (Orlando) Griffin-Burton, Ruthie and Sharon K. Griffin; special great niece, Kim (Timothy) Tharland and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah B. and J. D. Griffin, Sr; siblings, Ronald Griffin, David Griffin, Yvonne Griffin-Quince, J. D. Griffin, Jr; cousin/sister, Gretchen “Ree Tee” Donaldson; niece, Delois Jacob-Armstrong and nephew, Charles White.
