There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Shirley Chambers Cannon, age 86 of Nashville; formally of Shelbyville, held in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Mrs. Cannon passed from this life Thursday October 22, 2015 at The Meadows in Nashville.

Shirley Chambers Cannon was born November 23, 1928 in Jellico, TN to the late Shirley Coleman Chambers and the late Dana Mae Sharpe Chambers. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bill Cannon, and sister; Carolyn Barrett. Mrs. Cannon was a homemaker, she supported and contributed to the Argie Cooper Public Library, was an avid golfer, artist, past member of the Shelbyville Garden Club, D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution), and was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church (Nashville).

Mrs. Cannon is survived by children: Mark (Janis) Cannon of Shelbyville, Cris (Larry) Wozencraft of Nashville, Billy (Debra) Cannon of Franklin, grandchildren; Blake (Korley) Cannon of Shelbyville, and Ashley Cannon of Murfreesboro.

Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
