Jerry Ann Douglas, 88, of Princeton died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield. Born July 12, 1930, in Logan, she was the daughter of the late Oswald Hearst Bowman and Georgia Ann Frazier Bowman. Jerry was a 1948 graduate of Connellsville High School in Connellsville, PA. She was a graduate Concord College where she received secretary training. Jerry retired from her husband’s family owned business, Douglas Sporting Goods in Princeton. She had formerly worked as a secretary for First Community Bank, Princeton High School, and Wallace Van and Storage and also had worked at Sears. She was a member of First Christian Church in Princeton for more than 50 years where she was active in the church choir. Jerry was a member of the Princeton Junior Women’s Club and a Princeton Community Hospital Volunteer with 10 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul B. Douglas. Survivors include her daughters, Georgia Ann Combs and husband Roger, and Cathy Douglas all of Princeton; four grandchildren, Tina Leonard and husband Roger of Wytheville, VA, Heather Pruett and husband John of Princeton, Doug Smith of Princeton, and Jayson Smith of Parkersburg; one great-grandson, Seth Leonard; one sister, Edna Earle “Eddy” Chase and husband Bob of Winchester, VA; two nieces, Dawn Chase and boyfriend Dick Cline of Leesburg, VA, and Diana Kilmer and husband Kimley of Winchester, VA; and one nephew, Robert Bowman Chase of Washington. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Revered Gary Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Roger Combs, Roger Leonard, John Pruett, Doug Smith, Jayson Smith, and Joe Swim. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter 961 Shelter Rd, Princeton, WV 24740.
