JOHNNIE'S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran

Johnnie Lynn Barnes of Yukon, OK went to be with his Lord Jesus Tuesday April 2, 2019.

Johnnie was a beloved father and grandfather who was a sacrificially loving and strong man of faith. He taught Sunday School classes and bible studies consistently for 36 years. He had a genuine passion for God's Word and loved talking about all parts of it with anyone who would listen. He especially loved researching and learning about bible prophecy and prophetic current events. He loved Jesus with all of his heart and spoke often of wanting to be in His presence.

Johnnie was a career military man and civil servant having served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard for 30 years and as a civil servant for 27 of those. He retired as a jet engine technician at the rank of Tech Sergeant.

After retiring from the military he owned a handyman business and was a department manager for Lowes for 10 years. Ending his professional career, he spent several years driving a bus for Yukon Public Schools.

Johnnie was a strong man with a tremendous work ethic and a cowboy at heart having loved his horses and cattle and family dearly.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Barnes; parents, Henry and Gene Barnes, and brother, Jimmy Barnes.

He is survived by his daughters, Christy Harberson and husband Rodney and Melicia Sharp and husband Dennis; sons, Michael Crowell and Rayburn Crowell and wife Hillary; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m., at Covenant Community Church, 2250 S. Yukon Pkwy, Yukon, OK 73099, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
