BREEDEN Mary Lee Halmhuber, 88, of Lexington, died at home on July 5, 2016, of complications from lung cancer.
Born Dec 21, 1927, in Frankfort, KY, she grew up in Frankfort, attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1949 with a degree in art.

In 1950 she married Robert R. Breeden, of Midway, KY and began her career as a wife, mother, artist and servant of the Lord.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her brother, George A. Halmhuber II of Lawrenceburg, KY; and her parents, George A. and Laura B. Halmhuber of Frankfort.

She is survived by three children: Laura (Richard Ferber), of Washington, DC; G. Robert (Janet Minella), of Sarasota, FL; and Daniel (Lenore), of Lexington, as well as five granddaughters (Ann Breeden, Kathleen Hudson, Elaine Penrose, Caroline Miller, and Mary Claire Breeden), two step-great-granddaughters (Siena and Amari Ferber) and one great-grandson (Samuel Hudson).

Mary was an active member of Apostles Anglican Church.

A memorial celebration will be held at 11am on July 23 at the church, 200 Colony Boulevard, Lexington. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to World Vision, Apostles Anglican Church or a charity of your choice.
