Beulah Basham-Crawford, 77, of Big Creek died on Wednesday, March 2, 1994 at her home following a long illness. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Born July 1, 1916 at Ellison, she was the daughter of the late James Alexander "Alex" Basham (1858-1924) and Mary Elizabeth Lilly-Basham (1870-1945). She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sanford Ervin Basham (1881–1954), David F. Basham (1894–1895), Isabella Clementine Basham (1896–1896), Ernest Blaine Basham (1897–1947), Nathaniel Earl Basham (1901–1934), Lola Mae Basham-Austin (1905-1965), and Stacie Norma Basham-Stump (1912–1967).

Survivors include her devoted husband of 52 years, Hubert R. Crawford (1920-2000) whom she married on April 4, 1942 in Summers County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Summers County, WV, 1942, Page 6, Line 39, Application Date: April 4, 1942); three daughters, Elizabeth "Poochie" Crawford (1943-2001) at home, Jean Grimmett of Toledo, OH, and Virgie Watts of Christiansburg, VA; a son, Jack Basham of Toledo, OH; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and her best friend, Garnet Cox of Big Creek.

Services were held at 2:00 on Sunday, March 6, 1994 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel with Pastor George Cook officiating. Burial followed at the Crawford Family Cemetery in Big Creek/Wiggins.
