Helen Goodloe Wade, 99, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Daniel Wade; her parents, Howard Goodloe and Emma Blakey Goodloe; her sisters, Hilda Appleby, Evelyn Richardson and Audrey Acree; her brother, John Goodloe. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Dr. Marshall Gordon III.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Wade Gordon; her son, Thomas Howard Wade and his wife, Donna; grandchildren, Daniel Scott Gordon (Julie), Kendall Gordon Nichols (Nathan), Bryan Lee Wade (Meggin) and Lindsey Wade McIntyre (Cody); great-grandchildren, Campbell and Ryan Gordon. Other survivors include a number of special nieces and nephews.

Helen was a buyer in the purchasing department of Richmond Public Schools for 28 years.

Gratitude is expressed to the staffs of St. Mary’s Woods Retirement Community, Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End and Ascend Hospice for their compassionate care during the last few years.

The family will receive friends at the Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Woody Chapel on Monday, April 8, at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Westhampton Memorial Park.
