Dorothy A. 'Queenie' Luedtke
Dorothy A. "Queenie" Luedtke, 89, of Lomira, passed away at her home on
Easter Sunday morning, April 8, 2007.
She was born on July 23, 1917, in Theresa, the daughter of the late Robert
and Elsie Strehlow Kietzer.
On July 19, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jerome Luedtke. Her husband
passed away on March 22, 1981.
Queenie touched the lives of many people for many years through her
association with the Lomira public schools, Lomira Lions Club, Queenie's
Restaurant in Lomira, The Willow Inn, the Village Pump and Trinity United
Methodist Church in Lomira.
Survivors include five children, Ronald C. (Donna) Luedtke of Lomira, Wanda
L. (Richard) Patzer of Bella Vista, Ark., Margo M. (Larry) Murray of
Marathon, Fla., August J. (Andy) Luedtke and Jeffrey D. (Becky) Luedtke,
both of Lomira; 14 grandchildren, Melissa Luedtke, Murray (Heidi) Luedtke,
Melinda (Tim) Hoff, Joel (Jenny) Patzer, Jason Patzer, Michelle (Alan)
Nordwall, Bill (Ann) Murray, Ann (Ray) Serbick, Eric (Dawn) Zuehlke, Kristin
(Matt) Westphal, Kalen Luedtke, Jonathan (Lisa) Luedtke, Amy (Greg) Bloch
and Kasey (Jim) Todl; 24 great-grandchildren, Tyler Luedtke, Sawyer and
Shawna Hoff, Quinten and Sage Patzer, Alice, Aaron, Audra and Abagail
Nordwall, Madeline, Fiona and Kate Murray, Allyson, Keegan and Jack Serbick,
Zach and J.J. Zuehlke, Jensen, Noah and Eva Westphal, Dylan, Alex and Tori
Bloch and Sammy Todl; a brother-in-law, Wilmer Zahn of Lomira; a
sister-in-law, Marcelyn Luedtke of Henderson, Nev.; nieces; nephews; other
relatives; and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Queenie was preceded in death by a
brother, Lester (Bernice) Kietzer; a sister, Mildred Zahn; three
brothers-in-law, Roy, Harvey (Dorothea) and Norbert Luedtke; a
sister-in-law, Beulah (Earl) Wolf and a great-granddaughter, Tessah Todl.
# Services: Funeral services for Queenie will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
April 12, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. The Rev. John
Hobbins will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Salem
Cemetery in Lomira.
# Visitation: Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of
services on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity Church Luedtke
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother touched everyone with a
positive outlook on everything. She will be deeply missed by her family and
by all who knew her.
The Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira is serving the family.
