Diane Mae Engel Morris, 70, of Arvada, passed into the Heavenly Realm September 3, 2018 after a vicious battle with brain cancer.
Diane leaves behind her husband Bob Morris, her daughters Cory Anderson and Darcy Miskol; Grandchildren Jacob and MacKenzie Miskol, Richard and Ashleigh Anderson; Her sister Donita Reed Gerald; nephews Shane Reed, Brandon Reed, Landis Reed and nieces Amber Wightman and Noelle Lougheed; Uncle Bob and Aunt Sharon Andersen, and Aunt Jeanne Lockwood. Step-children Karrie Simmons and Breck Knox; step-grandchildren Chelsea, Brianna, and Mallorie Knox, and Alex and Maddie Morris; Sister-in-Law Pat Johnson. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald J. and Dorothy L. Engel.
Diane was born April 18, 1948 in Sioux City Iowa, the daughter of Donald James Engel and Dorothy Lucille Andersen Engel. She graduated from Arvada Senior High School in 1966.
Diane was artistic, and did some amazing paintings representing Native American Indians. She was passionate about her love for animals. She adopted many pets and donated to several animal charities. She sympathized with even the smallest of God's creatures, always wanting to set spiders free, or refusing to bait her own fishing hook with a worm for fear of hurting it.
She was open minded, and understanding of people from all walks of life. She believed and lived the native American prayer, "Oh Great Spirit, help me never to judge another person until I have walked a mile in his moccasins."
She loved music, particularly Elvis, Leon Russell, Queen, Bonnie Raitt, Heart, and a wide variety of rock from the 70s and 80s. Diane loved to play video games late into the night on her iPad and cribbage with her closest friends. She enjoyed a good murder mystery novel and recorded mystery shows to watch around the clock.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband Bob, taking the fifth-wheel trailer out on fishing trips, and also loved cruising to Alaska and the Caribbean.
Diane was really just beginning to enjoy the best years of her life with her loving husband Bob, who always called her "Precious". She was indeed precious and was taken away from us at the young age of 70 by the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
