Maurita "Susie" Parker
April 21, 1921 - April 02, 2019 Maurita “Susie” Aldridge Rusher Parker, 97, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. She was born on April 21, 1921, in Milroy, Indiana, and is the daughter of the late Cecil Aldridge and Lina Ellison Aldridge. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Connersville.
She had worked at Standard Grocery store for 26 years. Susie was a member of many organizations, including: the Moose Auxiliary, the Eagles, the Home Ec. Club, the Rebeccas, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She also loved to go shopping and for car rides. Fishing was a favorite past time of hers, as well. She often spent her winters in Florida.
Susie is survived by a daughter, Dana (Richard) Barrett, of Connersville; a son, Davey (Judy) Rusher, of Connersville; four grandchildren, Rett (Amy) Barrett, of Macomb, MI, Richie (Traci) Barrett, of New Castle, Dean Rusher, of Connersville, and Angie Willett, of Connersville; fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, David W. Rusher and Ronald S. Parker; a sister, Opal Emily, and an infant great-great-grandchild.
Visitation for Susie will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will be on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 10:00am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
